YURI KAWAMURA SUFFERS SEASON-ENDING INJURY

Cary, NC (June 2, 2017) – North Carolina Courage defender Yuri Kawamura suffered a season-ending injury last Saturday, May 27, in the match against the Chicago Red Stars. Kawamura went down in the 29th minute of play and suffered a right ACL and meniscus tear that will require surgery thus ending her 2017 campaign.

The Japanese international signed with the NC Courage on April 4, and appeared in eight games, starting seven, and totaling 588 minutes. Kawamura appeared in 32 games, starting in 23 and scoring two goals so far for the Japanese National Team.

The NC Courage take the field this Saturday, June 3 as they host FC Kansas City in the Lifetime Television Game of the Week at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park at 3:30 p.m.
