Cary, NC (December 10, 2019)- In the week where Lynn Williams and Denise O’Sullivan were named to The Guardian’s top 100 female footballers list, the two helped the Western Sydney Wanderers earn a draw against the Melbourne Victory.

Canberra United 1-2 Brisbane Roar

Kaleigh Kurtz started her fourth consecutive match with Canberra United as she plays with the team on loan during the NC Courage offseason. Canberra United’s defense faced a consistent attack throughout the first half and the Brisbane Roar were able to score two goals before halftime. Kurtz proved a threat right before halftime with one of her log throw-ins providing the United with a chance on goal. “Kaleigh Kurtz has been really impressive in the few weeks,” said commentator Grace Gill. “She has taken more of a wide role in the back.” Thorneses scored a goal for the United in the second half, but the team was unable to find an equalizer before time ran out. Canberra United recorded their second loss of the season and moves to 2W-2L-0D.
