CARY, NC (Sept. 1, 2022) — North Carolina Courage midfielder Denise O’Sullivan will join the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Football Team for their September 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying matches. The Irish side continue their road through the group stage as they take on Finland on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. ET (RTÉ2, RTÉ Player), and travel to Slovakia on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 12 p.m. ET (RTÉ2, RTÉ Player).

A Cork, Ire., native, O’Sullivan has 94 caps with the senior squad, as well as 18 goals, making her one of the all-time scoring leaders for the Irish women’s national team. September’s matches are of great import to the Girls in Green, as they wrap up play in Group A. Ireland sits at its highest ever women’s FIFA ranking and looks to make its first FIFA Women’s World Cup, next summer’s tournament to be held in Australia and New Zealand. O’Sullivan recently re-signed with the Courage through 2024 and has one goal and one assist through 13 games played this season, and ranks second on the team in passing accuracy with an impressive 83.4%. The Courage get back to NWSL play this Sunday, Sept. 4, at 5 p.m. ET when they travel to face NJ/NY Gotham FC at Red Bull Arena. The match will be broadcast live on Paramount+ and Twitch.
