Courage TST group and schedule revealed

CARY, N.C., (May 7, 2024) – The Soccer Tournament, the $1 million, winner-take-all, 7v7 world championship, today announced the group pairing and schedule for NC Courage as a part of its official women’s field reveal for the event in Cary, N.C. June 5-10.

The TST’s 8-team women’s field is split into two groups of four teams. NCFC women will headline Group B, which also includes Burnley FC, SoccerHead FC, and Tampa Bay Sun FC. NC Courage will begin group play against Burnley at 9:30 a.m. EST. on Friday, June 7th. Later that day, their second group stage game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. EST. against Tampa Bay Sun FC. Their final group stage match will be against SoccerHead FC on Saturday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. EST. All of the NC Courage group stage games will be available to stream at thetournament.com. The top two teams from each women’s group will advance to Sunday afternoon’s semifinals, with the winners advancing to the inaugural $1 Million women’s championship game on Monday, June 10, at 7:00 p.m. EST broadcast on ESPNU. The two-time NWSL Champions will bring a roster of former college and professional stars to defend their home turf, including former Courage legend and US Women’s National Team member Jessica McDonald Burnley FC plays in the FA Women’s National League North, the third tier of English women’s soccer. Their TST squad will be led by Kealia Watt, who played seven years in the NWSL, and is a minority owner of Burnley FC along with her husband J.J. Watt. SoccerHead FC will reunite former Duke Blue Devils, who have chosen the corporate America route, but still have aspirations of being professional soccer players. Tampa Bay Sun FC is a newly formed club, set to bring professional women’s soccer to Tampa for the first time as a member of the inaugural USL Super League. The other half of the women’s field includes the Wrexham Red Dragons, US Women, Angel City FC, and Streetball FC Canada. The Wrexham Red Dragons women play in the Adran Premier, the top flight of Welsh women’s soccer. Their TST squad will include members of their first team that featured on the TV show “Welcome to Wrexham,” as well as other professionals from the United States. US Women will be playing in TST for the second time, playing as the only all women’s team in the field last season. Their roster will see the return of three-time gold medalist and 2015 World Cup winner Heather O’Reilly and the TST debut of two-time World Cup winner and two-time gold medalist Ali Krieger. Streetball FC Canada will bring together Canadian players who have represented their nation at the World Cup and currently play in some of the top leagues from around the world. Angel City FC is a member of the National Women’s Soccer League. Their squad will include former professional and college players from around the country.
