CARY, N.C. (May 1, 2023) – The North Carolina Football Club and microbrewery Bombshell Beer Company today jointly announce a new partnership and release of microbrews paying homage to the North Carolina Courage and North Carolina FC.

The Lioness Lager (Courage) and The Sitter and the Striker (NCFC) will begin distribution this week. The Lioness Lager will available at WakeMed Soccer Park this Wednesday, May 3, when the Courage host Gotham FC at 7:00 p.m. ET. Cans and draft versions of both beers are available at the Bombshell Beer taproom and cans will begin hitting shelves at retailers across the Triangle this month. Cans will be available for purchase at select Fresh Market, Lowes Foods, Total Wine and other retail locations throughout the region. “Craft beer is a pillar of the Triangle, and we are excited about this mutually beneficial partnership. Bombshell is the perfect fit as a completely women-owned and operated business teams up with the only professional women’s sports team in North Carolina. We’re proud to continue our mission to partner with our community to encourage, inspire and promote women on all fields,” said North Carolina Football Club President Francie Gottsegen. Fans can try beers fresh from the source when the North Carolina Football Club hosts a watch party at the Bombshell Beer Taproom on June 14th at 7:30 p.m. ET for the Courage’s road Challenge Cup game against the Washington Spirit. The official beer of the Courage, the Lioness Lager is an easy-drinking lager, brewed to be enjoyed while cheering on the Courage at WakeMed Soccer Park. The Sitter and the Striker is an IPA that features a starting lineup of Amarillo, Motueka, Simcoe & Warrior hops; perfect before, during and after an NCFC match. Bombshell Beer of Holly Springs is North Carolina’s first 100% women-owned and operated microbrewery. Bombshell currently packages beer in kegs and cans which can be found in restaurants and bars throughout the Greater Triangle and Sandhills of NC. Visitors to the Bombshell Tap Room in Holly Springs will enjoy up to 16 beers on tap, wine and soft drinks and an outdoor Beer Garden.
