North Carolina Courage defender Abby Erceg has been named to the New Zealand Women’s National Team roster ahead of the 2017 Cyrpus Cup. The 27-year-old captain has made over 100 appearances for New Zealand since 2006, making her 50th appearance on March 2, 2011 vs. Netherlands. She has scored six goals as a defender in 130 appearances with the first team. New Zealand is currently ranked No. 19 in the FIFA Women’s Rankings. Six other NWSL players join Erceg in the 2017 Cyprus Cup including Rachel Corsie (Seattle Reign, Scotland), Rebekah Scott (Seattle Reign, New Zealand), Jess Fishlock (Seattle Reign, Wales), Rosie White (Boston Breakers, New Zealand), Katie Bowen (FC Kansas City, New Zealand), and Denise O’Sullilvan (Houston Dash, Republic of Ireland). Teams participating in the Cyprus Cup include Beligium, Italy, Korea DPR, Switzerland, Austria, Korea Republic, New Zealand, Scotland, Czech Republic, Republic of Ireland, Hungary and Wales.
