CARY, N.C. (June 30, 2023) — The North Carolina Courage have signed midfielder Haleigh Stackpole to a National Team Replacement contract, pending approval of an international clearance transfer. The Courage roster currently sits at 24 active players, one on the Season-Ending Injury list and six on international duty.
Stackpole was selected 29th overall by the Courage in the 2022 NWSL Draft. The former NC Courage Academy product played collegiately at Ole Miss, earning second team All-SEC honors her senior year after scoring five goals and dishing 16 assists – which ranked third in the country – across 21 matches. She was also named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region second team.
Stackpole was waived by the Courage in August of 2022 and continued her professional career in the Czech First Division for SK Slavia Praha Ženy. Upon receiving international clearance, Stackpole will be eligible to compete with the Courage. Stackpole is the fourth player signed to a replacement contract this week, joining goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff and defenders Sarah Clark and Nikia Smith.
